Just seen some really exciting news you all might want to look at. Revelation films have confirmed a DVD release of the first series later in the year in November. The following is taken from their website: Thursday, 13 May 2010 09:29
We are delighted to announce that, after 25 years, the first series of popular kids TV show T-Bag will be released on DVD this November.
The series ran on CITV in the 80s and early 90s and followed a witch-like character (T-Bag) and her sidekick (T-Shirt) on fun adventures and magical mysteries. The link to the website is: Revelation Films newsIf the link doesn't work go to the Revelation Films website and click on the latest news page link.

This is the excellent news we've all been waiting for (November can't come soon enough - once we know an exact date I'll add a countdown to the website). I've have been digging around for some more information. and found these quotes from Revelation Films Twitter and wikipedia pages. ‘In May, it was announced that T-Bag would be released following a long-time online petition by fans’ From Wikipedia - Revelation Films page
‘In May 2010, Revelation Films announced plans to release the series on DVD, with the first series scheduled for November.’ From Wikipedia - T-Bag pageThese quotes suggest that due to all our efforts with the petition we are getting the DVD release and seem to indicate that further series will follow. If you've not signed the petition yet please continue to do so as we would love to see a release of all the series and Christmas specials. '@john_hasler Hey John. We'll be releasing T-Bag on DVD in November and would love it if you could be involved! Maria x' '@revelationfilms hi there! Great news about the DVD release. So many people ask me about it. Let me know and I'll def be involved! Jh x' '@john_hasler Fantastic! We'll get in touch when we have a plan of action then. Yay! Maria x' Revelation Films Twitter page John Hasler Twitter pageThese above quotes from Twitter suggest we may be getting some extras too, I know I'd love to hear some episode commentaries or interviews from John Hasler, hopefully more of the cast and crew could provide commentaries/interviews too. '@revelationfilms will u be realsing them all?' 'Hi there. Yes, the long-term plan is to release all nine series. The first of which will be out in November.' '@revelationfilms cool and the xmas specails ?' 'Hey there. Not sure about the Christmas specials at this point as we are still in the very early stages. Sorry about that.' Revelation Films Twitter page nwgayboy Twitter pageThese quotes from Twitter have Revelation Films confirming they plan to release all nine series but are currently unsure about the four Christmas specials. Although the series release is in the early stages there are four series to release before the first Christmas special, fingers crossed that they add the Christmas specials as a bonus episode to the fourth, fifth, sixth and seventh series). I think November is a good time to release the series as it will in time for the Christmas buying season, hopefully this will boost sales. I’ll of course promote the release as much as possible on my website and forum and I’m hopeful people will rush out and buy it; I know I’ll certainly be buying it. It’s great to have it released in the 25th anniversary year too! I'm looking forward to all the series being released so can't pick a specific one to look forward too but the earlier series would be wonderful to see with perfect sound and picture as my VHS copies are getting older by the day. I hope the episodes on the DVD are completely intact with all the credits, episode introductions and the next episode previews too unlike the Pearls of Wisdom VHS cut version. I would love to see some of the clips of Elizabeth Estensen and John Hasler presenting Children's ITV as T-Bag and T-Shirt, this would make a great extra! Fabulous films had Philip Schofield from the CBBC broom cupboard singing the theme tune on the Mysterious Cities of Gold DVD, so hopefully there won't be too many issues getting some CiTV clips for the T-Bag DVD (maybe for the Strikes Again or Bounces Back release). I'd love to be involved with the DVD release (and offer some of my suggestions for extras etc), we'll just have to wait and see.

HMV.com & Amazon.co.uk have the first series listed on their websites for pre-order and both confirm a release date of 8th November 2010. The HMV website has the pre-order price of £7.99 (and a RRP of £12.99) and Amazon have the pre-order price currently at £9.69 (also confirming the RRP of £12.99). Both websites confirm the series will be on one disc. Amazon confirms the disc will be PAL region 2 (so may not work on Australian DVD players) and confirms the age-rating of 'PG (Parental Guidance)'. HMV has the title of the series as 'T Bag Wonders In Letterland Series 1' whereas Amazon have the series title as 'T-Bag - Troubles With T-Bag (Series 1)', whether the series will be released under it's original title 'Wonders In Letterland' or it's re-worked title (due to copyright issues) of 'Troubles with T-Bag' is currently unknown. Amazon gives a brief Product Description which confirms that all ten episodes will be on the disc. The description is below: 'The classic kids TV series which, to this day still boasts a hugely loyal following, stars Elizabeth Estensen (Tallulah Bag), Jennie Stallwood (Debbie) and John Hasler (T-Shirt), comes to DVD for the very first time! T-Bag is a full time mischief-maker. She is the wickedest witch around who, with her heinous helpmate T-Shirt, manages to create havoc wherever she goes - although none of the spells she casts ever go quite according to plan… Contains the episodes: Arrival In Letterland | Debbie In The Land Of B | Debbie In The Land Of S | Debbie In The Land Of I | Debbie In The Land Of P | Debbie In The Land Of R | Debbie In The Land Of V | Debbie In The Land Of O | Debbie In The Land Of E | Debbie's Journey Home'When the DVD appears on other websites I'll make a list of all the current prices. Any other news or developments will also be posted here. Amazon also shows some artwork (which shows Elizabeth Estensen as T-Bag but shows no logos or text), this can be seen below. I'm hoping they'll do a picture on the spines of the DVDs so when placed together it shows a full complete picture. Anyone ordered a copy yet?

I've found another online retailer that has the first series available to pre-order, this time it is: Sendit.com who are currently selling the DVD at £9.89. Excellent, excellent news -- please everyone show your support and buy this release.
Which brings me to a snag ... unfortunately Timtam the release is being advertised as Region 2 only which means it will only play on UK DVD players, multi-region DVD players and computers. This is a bit shortsighted of Reveltion as there is a big fan base for T.Bag in Australia and itmay affect sales.

I've been looking for more information and have now found more online retailers that are listing the first series for pre-order. As such I have done a list of the retailers and the current prices. If anyone finds any other online retailers listing the DVD for pre-order please let us know. HMV.com (£7.99) Amazon.co.uk (£8.99) Play.com (£8.99) Zavvi.com (£9.85) TheHut.com (£9.85) Sendit.com (£9.89) Lovefilm.com (£9.93) WH Smith entertainment.co.uk (£9.93) Woolworthsentertainment.co.uk (£9.97) (Prices correct at time of thread post) Someone has written a review for the DVD on the HMV website as follows: OH MY GOD, IS IT NOVEMBER YET??!!??!!??!!??!?
14 July, 2010 by Tony
I cannot believe that this classic 80s show is finally being released on DVD. This was one of my favourite shows from Childrens ITV. It features the wicked witch TBag with her sidekick TShirt trying to stop little ginger Debbie from finding golden letters scattered around an imaginery world.
This really is children tv at its best, I hope they release the other series on DVD, I think there were 9 seasons in total.
Lets all get behind this release and push T-Bag to everyone at home, getting all 9 series released nationwide!
Roll on November! Can't wait! There is even more on Twitter: We've been whisked back to our childhood today researching T.Bag. Time to go home now though. More next week. A bientôt, mes amis! 23rd July 2010 Revelation Films Twitter pageI've ordered several from HMV. Copy for myself and few others for friends. Revelations Films posted a screen grab couple days ago from Series 1. Posted it here with same shot from the YouTube clip. Looks great. Exactly how many have you ordered Charlatan? Very nice of you to purchase the DVD for friends too. HMV have the best price so far and at £7.99 is an absolute bargain, although I wouldn't mind paying the full £12.99. If you've not ordered a copy yet please do, at this rate it's going to be a sell-out. The screengrab looks utterly fantastic (thanks for sharing Charlatan), sure beats a tired old VHS copy. Can't wait to see it with such great picture and sound quality, only three months to go...

Exactly how many have you ordered Charlatan? 5, so far. I'd say HMV are probably the best. They tend to send out new releases a few days before official release date - providing they've got stock in. Revelation Films have posted the cover art for the first series on Twitter. 'Citing! ;D
