There have been concerns recently over the release of seies four (Turn on to T-Bag) and further series since online retailers changed release dates for the pre-orders on their websites. Unfortuantely the Turn on to T-Bag DVD will not be released on the 8th August as previously thought. Instead of this and further individual series DVDs Revelations Films have decided to release a complete boxset with all series and Christmas specials in January 2012. Below is the statement released by Revelation Films: Unfortunately, due to a drop-off in sales, it is no longer commercially viable for us to release the remainder of the series individually.
On a positive note, we do not want to disappoint fans who have already invested in the series by stopping entirely, so in January next year we will release a complete box set collection. This will contain previous individual releases and all remaining series, plus the Christmas Specials.
Revelation Films would like to extend a big thank you to all T-Bag fans for your letters and support. To find out more Revelation Films have added the following to their news pages: Revfilms - Upcoming release news.

Well, while it's a shame the DVDs haven't sold too well this does mean we're gonna get ALL of T-Bag on DVD, and much sooner than expected! It'll be interesting to see what extras we get with the box set. A few more commentaries would be nice, especially some on the later episodes and some featuring Kellie Bright or Georgina Hale, or both of them. Roll on January!

What do Revelation Films propose we do with the 3 series we already have? I hope including the 3 already released series doesn't bump up the price! Wouldn't it have made more sense to release series 4 and 5 together in a set with Liz Estensons 2 xmas specials as bonuses. Then a boxset of series 6, 7, 8 and 9 with Georgina Hale's xmas specials as bonuses? That way the fans haven't wasted money on the first 3 volumes. I think its a bit shady what they have done, but at least we *might* still get the complete set on DVD.... however the price point of the boxset is an issue... I'm not paying any more than £48 for it (price I'd pay for the remaining series individually, 6x £7.99 = £47.94) Otherwise I'll likely wait until it's been out a bit and drops in price. I knew there was something going on from the lack of cover art for Turn On To T-Bag.... I hope this doesn't effect them licensing other Thames TV shows such as Sooty (which would sell loads more than T-Bag!) Just look how many fans Sooty has on Facebook!

While I think it's a shame that the series hasn't sold too well and I'm not all that keen on buying Series 1 to 3 on DVD again, looking on the bright side, at least Revelation haven't pulled out of releasing the series altogether ... and as has already been mentioned we will be getting the series a lot quicker than we thought we would. As Revelation's website suggests, T.Bag isn't the only series which they've pulled from individual release -- it's perhaps a sign of the times that 'niche' releases such as these aren't as profitable as they would have been a few years ago. Added to which, as I think I've said before, I think Revelation missed a trick by not making these releases Region 0 as they did with 'The Tomorrow People' -- as is evident, the series has a following in Australia ... but oh well, every cloud, silver lining, and all that.
Blackiecats: I think, from the sounds of things - and this is the cynical part of me talking! - Revelation has probably already bunged out for the whole series and re-releasing the first three series as part of a complete series package is a way of recouping any losses. Alas, Clemshirt, as the series hasn't sold that well, I don't think we'll be getting much in the way of extras with the remaining series -- still time will tell.
While it's not all that good news, heck, we're still getting the whole series on DVD (fingers crossed! best keep a look-out over the next few months for BBFC certificates, cover art, etc), which is something we didn't ever think we were going to see a few years back ... remember the best we thought we might get not that long ago were 'digital downloads' -- I for one am much happier that we're getting the whole run on DVD ;-).

Well, I knew this was coming. At least it was nice of them to notify us before releasing them all in a boxset.
I think it should have all special features too, which seems evident and could be called T-Bag's T-Set Collection or something like that.
I do agree with blackiecats, it would be cool if it was a unique packaging. I do want some easy (yet secure) access to the DVD Discs, not to simply slip them into the cardboard (like The Simpsons have recently done which damages the discs).
One question though: Do they plan to put in the Reunion DVD in with it?

I've pre-ordered mine from Amazon, at £29.99 I might get two! I'm still waiting to see if it appears on other online retailers like HMV or Play.com to see if they have the boxset at a similar price. As for the packaging I hope the series come in different cases with different covers for each series, but I feel this is unlikely (unless when Revelation Films got the rights they had started planning the various covers in advance). I think we might end up with a large plastic case to hold the nine discs much like Revelation Films release of 'Rawhide' which has eight discs. As for the extras I hope we still get some treats, I've sent Revelation Films scans of John Plant's sketches for series four and five (only two for series five and no more afterwards). I hope they include plenty of photographs, publicity photos as well as some from Lee, Grant and Ray (like on the T-Bag Bounces Back DVD). But any extras would be a bonus and it will just be great getting all the series on DVD. One question though: Do they plan to put in the Reunion DVD in with it? I doubt the Reunion DVD will be part of the boxset as this was made by Fantom Films. The Boxset will be the nine series, 4 Christmas specials and hopefully extras. Anyway the Reunion DVD is still available to buy from Fantom Films, I think I'll rewatch it whilst waiting for the series boxset. I'd expect to start seeing details on the BBFC end of October/Early November at the earliest. We'll have to wait to see but the first three series appeared on the BBFC and two and half months before their release.

I just hope there will be enough copies left over by then. Well, that is good news. Any extra stuff might be too much for one disc though. They may have to make it more then nine discs or make the sketches as postcard extras in the box-set or Easter Eggs on the discs themselves. I agree, the extras are just to add more to the wonderful memories we know of the series. Well, I am a cautious person. I do not want to give my credit card details to get anything online. I wish they (Fantom Films) had the choice of Paypal...as it is the only payment method I feel comfortable with. Side-Note/ Edit: I was quite annoyed that the third series did not have commentary (even on a few episodes). I felt maybe they put in too much extra stuff and had to lose the commentary of the cast, which is a shame in my opinion. Do you think they will do the same with the later series in the Box Set? I know it is a minor thing to complain about, but it was just a shock to me that they did not include commentary in the third series.

I have a multi-player that play any dvd region thanks to my boyfriend he had given it to me after he got another dvd player. I'm gonna wait til the box set is out to get the whole series but I was gonna get series 1 - 3 after these links Atomicmovies.com.au and Fishpond.com.au had the dvds with a comfortable way for me to pay. I'll wait for these links to put up the box set and I'll get it in January 2012. I'm so happy that I can get the T. Bag dvds. I've loved this show as a kid, so its fitting that I have the whole series to enjoy.

I've paid for items from Fantom Films with Paypal, drop them an e-mail to ask to pay via Paypal, I'm sure they'll oblige. The Reunion DVD is worth it - it's a great watch and wonderful to hear the cast and crew talking about their warm memories of the series. I think I might rewatch it in time for the series boxset release. You'll even see me grinning like a cheshire cat near the end of the main feature! Good to hear you'll be able to watch it on a region free player.

looks like an excellent price might have to pre order it next month as finding it in shops e.g. HMV even in a big store like manchester will prove difficult

Just over a month to go, shouldn't we have seen artwork and the classification on the BBFC website by now? I hope its still being released as it seems Revelation Films have gone very quiet...

Sorry to inform you but it looks like the DVD boxset has been postponed, some people have mentioned on the facebook group that they have had an e-mail from Revelation Films about the boxset. It seems to have also been confirmed by them on their Twitter page today in response to someone's question. @revelationfilms when will we be able to see the T-Bag box set artwork?RevelationFilms @d1rty_scoundrel Bad news I'm afraid. We've had to temporarily remove the set from the schedule. Hopefully we can add it back later in 2012.
@d1rty_scoundrel Sorry you feel let down & please know that we are doing our best to bring it out. It hasn't been cancelled at this point.
@d1rty_scoundrel Just put on hold until decisions can be made. Unfortunately, the series hasn't been as popular as we would have hoped.I was beginning thinking that we hadn't had any BBFC ratings or any other news. Although this is very disappointing news to hear (and just before Christmas) it's heartening to know they do still hope to release the boxset at some point. Let's hope more people buy the first three series DVDs, especially as they are now a few pounds cheaper, this might encourage Revelation Films to release the boxset sooner.

Sadly I doubt things will change. My guess is that only Amazon placed an order to stock it and there wasn't enough interest from other retailers I very much doubt things will change in 2012 to be honest. Although they didn't say so, I think its pretty much cancelled. Oh well at least we have our TV recordings Just a shame we couldn't get Series 4 Turn On To T-Bag, as my copies of the latter series aren't too bad. However my Turn On To T-Bag eps are in the worst quality of all my TV recorded eps Maybe we can get Revelation to just release series 4 ;D
