This was Kellie's second show after T-Bag she played Joe McGann's Daughter Joanna, when she first played in it her character was very stuck-up and she didn't get on at all with Caroline at first ,(Charlie's Boss) but as the series continued she was a really nice gal, and she was great with co-stars Diana Weston who played Caroline and Honor Blackman who played Caroline's Mother Laura. It was a great series and seeing Joanna growing up from a teenage rebel to a lovely young woman.

This has been getting a much deserved repeat on Paramount Comedy channel number 2. But its not the complete series as they haven,t got the rights to the last 7 episodes.Maybe we could get reunion for this as well and a DVD to boot, whats every one think.

I started watching The Upper Hand after finding out that Kellie was going to be in it so I watched it from the start and very much enjoyed it. Seeing Kellie grow up over the series into a young woman was great and to see her in another programme after T-Bag.
Although everyone else's character were overshadowed by Honor Blackman's character Laura the show had great warmth amongst all the characters and was certainly a fantastic programme. I loved the arguments Kellie had with Caroline's son Tom played by William Puttock. The theme music was just perfect too, one of my favourite theme tunes ever (after T-Bag of course).
I recorded the last episode with Caroline and Charlie's wedding from UKTV Gold (I think) several years ago and it's a shame the programme hasn't yet made it out on DVD - if it ever does I'll be buying them all. I found out recently that a few more episodes were made to tie up the loose ends in the storyline after the wedding but I never got a chance to see them.

The final season of 'The Upper Hand' was supposed to be the 1995 series, where Charlie and Diana were married, but ITV were having such a bad time with comedy at the time that the show was immediately resurrected in 1996. Ironically, the shows ratings nosedived and the series was axed.
I remember the show's first series from 1990 vividly and remember watching it mainly due to Kellie Bright's involvment.
