Hi all just watched series 3 was very enjoyable however no audio commentries this time but still great to watch ! The other thing I did notice was in Episode 3 Ivan the Horrible that Fremantle/ Revelation used a different sourced tape as it wasn't the original as you can slightly tell by the quality of the VTR so whether the Master tape was lost or accidently wiped quite honestly I wouldn't know but it really doesn't spoil it too much! I love the bit in Episode 7: Candle, Bell and Book where T-shirt has King Rufus's Dog in the T- Room and T- Bag calls out from the bedroom to T- Shirt. "T-shirt what's going on in there ?" and T-shirt replies "Oh crikey!" Oh Nothing Nothing! Just made by laugh! John is always great at doing humours scenes like he did in Series 2 in Ali Barber where he as T-shirt is wearing a bowl of fruit and taking the mick out of T-Bag's new hair style!!! Just Marvellous!!! Looking forward to series 4 the first one without Debbie !

I noticed that disclaimer at the start, but I didn't really notice any picture degradation, as to me it looked the same quality as the other eps? However I did notice a little video glitch where a little wear line flashes up for a split second. I'm guessing ep 3 comes from a TV master (those sent to TV regions in the UK and channels abroad) while the other 9 eps came from the main masters? Be cool if Revelation Films would explain this..... Also just this minute I finished watching episode 9 'Nikdit The Thief' and that has a few of those video glitches (mostly toward the end of the episode) Did anyone else notice them, just so I can confirm it's not just my copy? They occur at around: 10.05 (when T-Shirt says "You were nicking my crisps"), 10.47 (the greedy guy says "What do ya want?" to Debbie), 14.19 (just after Nikdit comes through the door), 14.39 (just after he says "Madam I could do nothing with...."), 17.40 (slight screen jumb when Debbie says "We can get rid of T-Bag forever") I'd have thought the disclaimer about quality would have applied more so to episode 9, than episode 3! I'm just glad that we are getting them on DVD, before the masters had degraded any more and had much worse glitches!

Oddly HMV now state the release of series 4 and 5 will be January 2013! Surely thats an error!

Just got my copy of Series 3 and I have to say Episode 3 is in an appalling state. First of all it seems they've actually done a re-edit on the opening of the episode to splice in clean titles and the cliffhanger from the previous Episode -- there's a very sharp drop in quality once the episode proper begins with an unstable picture and sound. Added to the sloppy editing of this (you can hear the tail end of the musical 'brrrrring' sound as the titles cut to the scene of Count Boris pacing), Revelation also appear not to have done their homework. I could be wrong on this and I currently don't haven't my old copies to hand so I can't check, but didn't the Episode 3 recap of the cliffhanger (as with the Episode 2 one) feature material that wasn't in the Episode 2 cliffhanger? If so this is now missing and this isn't the complete episode. As grateful as I am to have the series at last on DVD, this does jar slightly. I wonder what's happened to the original master? I hope this is the only case of this happening.
Some words of praise: great set of extras in spite of the lack of commentary -- thanks to Jamie for the design sketches ;-).
ETA: Gah! They've done it to the end of the episode as well -- the fade from Debbie in the throne room to the beach is missing the 'brrrrrrring' sound effect again ... and the editing of the end of the episode is sloppier still -- the original ends with a freeze frame of Debbie putting her hand over her mouth at the laugh of Black-Hearted Belle. Niggles I know, but if we had to have an episode in this quality (my guess is it's a domestic off-air recording rather than any sort of copy held by a TV station), I wish they'd just left the whole thing as it was.

Can anybody tell me what Debbie says in episode 4 of series 3 about 10 minutes 17 seconds in? It's the line just before T-Bag says "Oooh the little creep!" I've listened to it loads of times and I just don't know what it is she's saying.

It's something along the lines of 'ems dyin' to 'ear Cap'an' which roughly translates as 'I'd like to hear that story Captain' ... isn't it?

In the latest issue of DVD & Blu-Ray Review (July 2011, issue 155) there is a full page advert for the T-Bag DVDs by Amazon.co.ukI've scanned it in and this can be seen below. I've now watched the first five episodes, I'm trying not to rush through all the episodes, so I don't know about the quality of episode 9. I know episode three isn't the master copy but this version is very watchable and a major (pun intended) improvement over my transferred betamax recording. It's great to have the series on DVD after years of campaigning. Although there are no commentaries (we were spoiled with these on the first two DVDs) the other extras are brilliant - my favourite is the sing-along 'handwritten lyrics' although some of the words have changed since the draft lyrics I've still 'sung-along' after watching the episodes numerous times anyway. Glad you like the sketches from John Plant Raggedbone, these are detailed sketches but some were probably drawn after filiming due to the likeness of the actors in the sketches. If anyone has not got the DVD yet, go and order it now, it will be worth every single shiny penny!

Yeah I think you're right. Thanks. It's something along the lines of 'ems dyin' to 'ear Cap'an' which roughly translates as 'I'd like to hear that story Captain' ... isn't it?

I would have thought we would have seen the cover for the series 4 DVD by now? I hope both series 4 and 5 get released at the very least. I know after series 4 (which is the worst quality I have on VHS) my VHS copies get better. I want them all of course, but I really really want to get series 4! I'm pretty sure everyone else's TV recording copies of series 4 isn't so good too...

I have not been on this forum for years !!! Missed so much ! So I noticed on the citv reunion show they were showing a tbag episode (they actually could have chosen a better one). Well after watching it I googled 't bag' and noticed that years have passed since the first 3 series have been released on DVD ! I was so surprised I never ever thought this would happen! I immediately purchased them new from amazon !!! The commentaries were amazing totally missed on the 3rd series!!
I see that series 4 was planned for release and then cancelled! I then have read that revelation planned to release the entire box set? Is there an update about this I see this was meant to happen a year ago ? Any official word on this ?
