Yes, absolutely loving it -- manna from heaven ... just hope we get the subsequent eight series and the Christmas specials out now!! Thanks for the links Jamie -- the interview with Pressman and Cathro is great and the cover for Strikes Again is good to see. Can't wait till the end of January now!!
The edits are a curious mix and if you hadn't seen the original you wouldn't really be aware of it. Blackicats, the edits were made shortly after it was broadcast as there was already a series of books titled 'Letterland' (and I think there's a cartoon of it out there as well). Executive Producer Marjorie Sigley was apparently aware of this at an early date, but still went ahead with the series under the title Wonders in Letterland ... I dunno, people in TV!! The episodes are in no way shorter I don't think -- it's just several shots have been re-created and the word 'Letterland' is blurred out wherever it becomes too visible. As Jamie also mentions, the voiceover at the start of Episode 1 ('Wonders in Letterland: the exciting adventures of a small girl in search of the magic letters.') has been removed and the titles for the following nine episodes are also changed -- in the original, there would be a shot of the board game and the title was rush at the screen, with the same narrator (was this Leon Thau?) saying 'Wonders in Letterland'. There really isn't that much altered. ;-)

I use to have a portable DVD player which could play other regional code DVDs. It died earlier on this year lol.
Don't worry, "waiting" is my friend LOL.
Still checking Aussie DVD retailers websites each week. Will post here when I see something.

I'm not that familiar with the first series - I watched it as a kid but I only remember some parts, vaguely. It's interesting reading about the editing and the copyright etc. Cheers for the link to the Grant and Lee interview. Hope Revelation get them to record a few commentaries on future series.

Watched the first 5 episodes today and thoroughly enjoyed them. I know the series takes a while to find its feet, and will continue to get better but I think the writers must have realised pretty early on that the real gold lay in the T-Bag / T-Shirt relationship. Already the focus seems to have shifted to them slightly, and I must admit that a few of the scenes without them have dragged on a bit, as good as Debbie and Jim Norton's characters are. The chemistry between T-Bag and T-Shirt is there right from the start, and what a little scene stealer John Hasler was!

Jamie's posted the original episode 10 on youtube where you can see the differences:
I have to admit Series 1 isn't my favourite, but then I'm at the disadvantage of having only seen this at nineteen having seen the other 84 episodes and none of the rosy nostalgia. I find a lot of it slow and pedestrian (especially the labouring of the educational angle); that said, bits of it really work, especially T.Bag and T.Shirt, and the treasure hunt (which is what got me hooked from the next series). 'T.Bag Strikes Again' takes everything that worked in Series 1 and builds on it spectacularly, laying the blue-print for every series that followed ... with the possible exception of the last series. T.Bag and T.Shirt are definitely more prominent, but (IMO) they really come centre-stage once Debbie has gone in 'Turn on to T.Bag' where T.Bag gets her own sub-plot with the hilarious Hi-TV ... but that's a few series off!! ;-)

Revelation Films have added to their fanzone on their website with a quick interview with Jim Norton, find it here. Well done on the BBFC find, I checked only a few days ago to see if it was listed when I saw the cover on Amazon showing the 'U' certificate.

Well this is the last time I pre-order from Amazon! Still no DVD!!! and it was meant to have dispatched saturday!! What's worse is I order a couple of dvd's for my brother after T-bag was dispatched and they have arrived! (from Amazon with free shipping) I contacted Amazon today and they said that I have to wait til 26th November before they can regard the package as 'lost'. So looks like I'll have to wait to watch it on DVD. Series 2 I'll buy from HMV......

Amazon's probably the most popular but I've always found it to be one of the worst online retailers. Items not turning up, completely different items turning up from what I had ordered and terrible customer service. Saying all that, they have the third and fourth series of T-Bag already up for pre-order for next year... Series 3 - May 2ndSeries 4 - August 8th

Revelation Films have now updated their website with details on the release of 'T.Bag Strikes Again', as well as - hoorah! - confirming the release dates for 'T.Bag Bounces Back' and 'Turn on to T.Bag'. It specifies that Series 2 will again have a commentary with Elizabeth Estensen, John Hasler and Jennie Stallwood -- gets even better doesn't it?! ;-)

It's fantastic to see that we are almost guaranteed to get the first 4 series on DVD! I'm extremely happy with this news (my off air copies of series 5-9 are in ok condition) So as long as we get series 4 (probably the series I have in worst quality) I'll be content.... Of course I want to see them all on DVD eventually...but I guess that will depend on sales of the first 4 sets! I must admit I am surprised at the release pace of these 4 sets! It's great that we are getting them so fast!

Hope you've got your DVD now Blackiecats. I've watched all the episodes except episode 10 (with and without commentary). The DVD is brilliant and I hope it is selling well. It's great that Revelation Films have now confirmed T-Bag Bounces Back and Turn On To T-Bag only after the first series has been on sale for only a matter of days. Further commentaries are most welcome, the first series commentaries are a great extra and wonderful to hear the memories of the cast. If the release of the 3rd and 4th series are scheduled for May and August maybe we'll get the fifth series in November/December time next year and hopefully all of the Tabatha Bag series in 2012. Speculation aside I would love all nine series released as I'm sure when people buy the earlier series they would also like the whole series. I've pre-ordered T-Bag Strikes Again from HMV as it is currently listed for pre-order alongside a few other shops (links below), HMV are again offering the DVD at £7.99, I'm sure Amazon will lower it's price before release (they did with the first series dropping from £9.69 to £7.99) HMV.com (£7.99) GreatestMovies.co.uk (£9.49) Amazon.co.uk (£9.69) Shop Ireland (£9.69) I'll pre-order T-Bag Bounces Back and Turn On To T-Bag when they start appearing on HMV, I've only purchased a few things from Amazon in the past.

Hope you've got your DVD now Blackiecats. Nope, it still hasn't arrived (and come to think of it, it's the only item I have bought online to go missing ever!) I've ordered loads of stuff from Amazon over the last couple of years (I order stuff for my brother as well as friends who don't have internet access!) So it's kinda weird for this item I've been looking forward to for the past few months to disapear! Though my mum said she heard on the local news a postal van had been robbed recently, so maybe that's the explanation.....who knows... I had thought of just ordering another copy from HMV, but there are other DVD's I want so spending another £7.99 really isn't ideal and possibly ending up with 2 copies! I guess I'll just wait... I've watched all the episodes except episode 10 (with and without commentary). The DVD is brilliant and I hope it is selling well. It's great that Revelation Films have now confirmed T-Bag Bounces Back and Turn On To T-Bag only after the first series has been on sale for only a matter of days. It must be doing ok for them to commit to further series....but then they did release all the Dogtanian and Willy Fog episodes. It will also be down to the license agreement with Fremantle Media too I guess...if they got the rights for a very good price that could be a reason they can afford to fund so many releases at once. Further commentaries are most welcome, the first series commentaries are a great extra and wonderful to hear the memories of the cast. I agree. Like I said before, we already got cast interviews on the Reunion DVD. The only other thing they could do is a treasure hunt type game where you have to find the object in a picture on your TV screen (letter, number, bell, crystal , spoon etc... depending on the series) Find all 8/9/10 precious objects to win the game... I think that's how it will go. Probably beginning of November for series 5. I've pre-ordered T-Bag Strikes Again from HMV as it is currently listed for pre-order alongside a few other shops (links below), HMV are again offering the DVD at £7.99, I'm sure Amazon will lower it's price before release (they did with the first series dropping from £9.69 to £7.99) I'll pre-order T-Bag Bounces Back and Turn On To T-Bag when they start appearing on HMV, I've only purchased a few things from Amazon in the past. I will be buying series 2 from HMV after the debacle with my series 1 copy!! Also you guys got your series 1 copies on the saturday before the monday, so it will be cool to get series 2 a few days early! Another good reason for ordering from HMV

As expected Amazon have now reduced the pre-order price for T-Bag Strikes Again to £7.99.
I've now seen all the episodes and all the episodes with commentaries, they are brilliant and I'd recommend the DVD, Revelation Films have done a great job with the DVD! Can't wait for the second series. Not seen it on any other websites yet, anyone else found any other shops with the second series for pre-order?

I was in Sainsbury's the other day and saw Series 1 in the DVD section. I was quite surprised as Revelation are only a small independent company and didn't really expect to see it in the shops but I was chuffed. ;D
